According to a radio interview from RMC Sport, Anthony Martial’s agent stated that Martial is looking for a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Phillipe Lamboley, Martial’s agent, said, “After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United. There are lots of factors, and right now it’s too early to talk about them.”

Lamboley continued by saying, “Manchester United want Anthony to extend his deal and do not want him to leave, but we have not reached an agreement for several months. I think that when Manchester United, the most powerful club in the world, do not find an agreement after eight months of negotiations then they do not really want to keep such an important player in their squad. That’s why this decision has come — it’s a well-thought-out decision.”

Martial has been disappointed with the lack of opportunities given to him at Old Trafford this season. And with the recent signings of Alexis Sanchez and Fred, Martial’s minutes have decreased.

Martial is still under contract for next season and the United also have the option for the 2019-20 season.

Liverpool are looking for someone after their failed Nabil Fekir deal went down. According to ESPNFC, Liverpool are close to make a deal for Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri. Shaqiri, 26, is expected to leave Stoke City this summer following their relegation from the Premier League. Numerous clubs are interested in the Swiss international’s signature.

Shaqiri is reported to have a release clause of £13.5 million in his contract and that makes him an attractive proposition at that price.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen to boost his options in attack next season, as he wants to ease the pressure on the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
