Spain Squeezes a Last Minute Goal to Draw Against Morocco

Spain needed a victory and they are in. If they fail to win, they need results elsewhere. This match was full of drama.

Morocco shocked the world with a big time mistake from Andres Iniesta and Sergio Ramos and Morocco’s Khalid Boutaib was able to beat Spain’s David De Gea for 1-0 shock lead.

Spain was able to fight back. Spain’s Isco, who has been their best performer so far this World Cup, was able to beat Morocco’s Monir El Kajoui with a classy strike.

Morocco were on upset mode once again as they took the lead again. Youseff En-Nesyri delivers a powerful header past Sergio Ramos and David De Gea. Morocco were brilliant as they gave the Spanish fits all game.

Spain continued looking for that important goal. They found it with a stunning back heel strike from Iago Aspas. The linesman instantly called offsides on Aspas which disallowed the goal. The referee went thru VAR to take a look into the play and decided to give the goal. Spain was able to survive at the death.

Spain wins Group B and will take on Russia for the Round of 16.

Saudi Arabia Stuns Egypt as Salah Leaves WC Winless

Egypt looks to win at least one game in this group. It has been a very disappointing World Cup campaign for Mohamed Salah and Egypt, after big expectations. They needed a redemption match against the lowly confident Saudi Arabia.

The first goal came from Mohamed Salah as he scored his second goal of this World Cup. Salah received a perfect long pass and was able to chip it over Saudi Arabia’s Yasser Al-Mosailem for the 1-0 lead.

Saudi Arabia was able to tie the match from the PK spot. Saudi Arabia’s Salman Al-Faraj was able to beat Egypt’s Essam El-Hadary to make it 1-1.

In the dying minutes of the match, Saudi Arabia was able to break the hearts of Egyptians forever. Saudi Arabia’s Salem Al-Darwsari blasts a low rocket past El-Hadary to help Saudi Arabia defeat Egypt and spoil Salah’s World Cup campaign.

Uruguay Dominates 10 Man Russia to Win Group A

Uruguay and Russia battles for the top spot of Group A. Uruguay and Russia have been the best teams in Group A.

Uruguay scored the first goal of the game by a thunderous free kick from Luis Suarez. Suarez got his second goal of this edition’s World Cup.

Russia’s afternoon was about to get worse as Igor Smolnikov received a red card for two yellow cards early in the match. Leading Russia to playing the rest of the match with 10 men.

The second goal came from a own goal from Russia. Uruguay’s Diego Laxalt took a powerful shot and it deflected off Russia’s Denis Cheryshev to go past Igor Akinfeev for the 2-0 lead.

Uruguay was able to finish off the Hosts with a Edinson Cavani strike to finish the match. Uruguay finished with a dominant 3-0 victory over Russia to win the group.

Colombia Dismantles Poland to Keep World Cup Dreams Alive

Colombia and Poland needed a victory to keep World Cup hopes alive. The loser of the match will be eliminated from the World Cup. Big match for both teams.

Colombia got the breakthrough from a powerful header from FC Barcelona’s Yerry Mina. Mina has been fantastic in this match against Poland as him and Davidson Sanchez was able to shut down Poland’s Robert Lewandowski.

The second goal came from El Tigre. Radamel Falcao received a fantastic ball from Juan Quintero and Falcao was able to slot it past Wojciech Szczesny for the 2-0 lead over Poland.

The dagger into the hearts of Poland came in 75th minute as Juan Cuadrado had a one v one against Szczesny for the 3-0 lead and to complete the perfect day for Los Cafeteros. 

With this result, Poland are officially eliminated from the World Cup. Colombia has a chance to advance.

Colombia must defeat Senegal in order to advance while Poland will take on Japan.

Senegal and Japan Fights for a Entertaining 2-2 Draw

Senegal and Japan battled for their World Cup knockout stages qualification. It was a entertaining match between the two sides.

Senegal scored the first goal from a goalkeeping error. Sadio Mane was able to power shot it in past Japan’s Eiji Kawashima for the 1-0 lead.

Japan quickly got the equalizer from a great team goal. Takashi Inui finished the play with a fantastic low curler past Senegal’s Khadim Ndiaye.

Senegal got the lead once again from a counter attack. Moussa Wague’s powerful strike finished the impressive attack from Senegal. Senegal looked like they won the game against a strong Japanese side.

Japan had the last laugh. The Japanese continued dominating the possession. They finally scored from a cross from Takashi Inui to Keisuke Honda. Honda was able to slot it past Ndiaye for the 2-2 draw.

Japan will take on Poland with a win basically gives Japan a spot to the last 16, while Senegal must defeat Colombia to advance.
